I’m Juan Aizpuru, a photographer and filmmaker from the Basque Country in northern Spain, shaped by its strong character, resilience and connection to nature.

For more than 15 years, my career was deeply connected to snow and the mountains. I photographed skiing and snowboarding across the Pyrenees, the Alps, Japan, Canada, Chile, Argentina and beyond, always searching for untouched mountains, remote places and stories that were difficult to reach.

Working in extreme and unpredictable environments taught me to understand the camera in a very practical way: reacting quickly, anticipating movement and creating strong images in difficult weather, changing light and demanding terrain. During those years, I worked on projects connected to Red Bull, Salomon, Mammut and National Geographic Spain.

In 2022, an incident injured me in the place I loved most: the mountains. The recovery changed the way I saw my life and my work. It gave me the strength to begin again and create something new.

For the past two years, I have lived as a nomad, travelling across Asia, Oceania and Central America while capturing the people, landscapes and moments I encounter. Seeing the world from this perspective changes the way you understand life, and returning to a conventional way of living is not always easy. So I choose to keep moving, creating and pursuing my dreams.

Today, I create photography and video for tourism, travel, lifestyle, sports and commercial projects. I look for honest, powerful images that bring visibility to different ways of life and invite people to see the world from a new perspective.
